Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to build the next generation data analytics platform and support data solutions across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business users and technology teams to understand data needs and create innovative solutions
• Optimize BI dashboard quality, establish best practices, and design a semantic data layer for analytics and AI
• Work with data science and engineering teams to automate data analysis and visualization, and advise on data transformation

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• 5+ years of experience with Tableau, SQL, and Python
• Strong experience in building the semantic layer using tools such as AtScale, dbt, and Dremio
• Experience with big data technologies like Delta Lake, Apache Hive, and Amazon Redshift
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is highly preferable
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Oracle Data Flow and Airflow
