Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to support high-impact civic tech within the federal government.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems following modern data engineering best practices
• Evaluate and prototype new tools and technologies, assessing their risks and benefits
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related domains
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, AWS, Dbt, SQL (PostgreSQL), Python, and Java
• Proven leadership experience in technical teams
• Experience working in agile, iterative software development environments
