Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

Offering a senior leadership opportunity, the fully remote Principal Data Engineer will define and lead data platform strategy, build scalable data pipelines, and establish governance frameworks while focusing on AI-ready data systems.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead data platform strategy across pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes
• Build and optimize scalable batch and real-time data pipelines
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and leadership to align data strategy

Required qualifications

• Strong experience designing and delivering distributed data systems at scale
• Expertise in Python, SQL, and either Scala or similar
• Deep knowledge of cloud-native data platforms and data warehousing
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or PubSub
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines for AI and machine learning use cases
