Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the architectural vision for MGM's Marketing and Revenue Management data ecosystem, the full-time Principal Data Engineer will define multi-year strategies, establish governance standards, and drive modernization initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define the multi-year architectural vision for MGM's Lakehouse platform, focusing on governance and reliability
• Architect scalable solutions for high-volume datasets across real-time, batch, and federated environments
• Lead the adoption of modern data engineering patterns and ensure metric consistency and governance alignment

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 10+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in architecting large-scale workloads in Databricks or equivalent Spark platforms
• Expert-level experience with Databricks and Lakehouse architecture
• Advanced skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL
