Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing data infrastructure, the full-time Principal Data Engineer will architect the data platform, define engineering standards, and enable data-driven decisions while working remotely across the US, Canada, and Poland.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the end-to-end design of the data infrastructure, focusing on pipeline architecture and data modeling
• Establish and enforce engineering standards around data quality, testing, and observability
• Drive data governance by owning data contracts, SLAs, lineage, and documentation

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering
• Expert-level command of Python and SQL, with a history of maintaining production systems
• Deep hands-on experience with Airflow, dbt, Terraform, and Snowflake in production environments
• Demonstrated ability to own platform architecture decisions end-to-end
• Experience building and enforcing data quality and governance frameworks at scale
