Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

Owning complex data engineering challenges, the full-time remote Principal Data Engineer will design and implement advanced data pipelines and architectures while mentoring team members and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of complex data engineering initiatives with significant business impact
• Provide technical mentorship and establish data engineering standards to enhance team capabilities and output quality
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and operations teams to translate complex requirements into effective engineering solutions

Required qualifications

• 7-10+ years of data engineering experience with a proven ability to build production-grade pipelines and platforms
• Deep expertise in data architecture, pipeline design, and platform engineering, including tools like Airflow, Spark, and dbt
• Strong proficiency in cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and services such as Snowflake or BigQuery
• Advanced skills in Python and SQL; proficiency in Scala or Java is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
