Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

Driving AI/ML strategy and delivering data-driven solutions, the full-time remote Principal Data Engineer will lead the organization's data science practice, focusing on model development, NLP, and advanced analytics while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the data science and AI roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals
• Lead the development and deployment of machine learning and NLP solutions, including forecasting models
• Conduct assessments of data architecture and quality, establishing governance standards and KPI reporting frameworks

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics, including production ML/AI deployments
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with NLP libraries and forecasting models
• Solid command of SQL for data querying and analysis across relational databases
• Experience in regulated industries with knowledge of compliance and data governance requirements
