Principal Data Engineer
Job Summary
Driving data strategy and technical excellence, the full-time Principal Data Engineer will design and implement data architecture, manage ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensure reliable data delivery in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement dimensional models and semantic models for business reporting
- Build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines while ensuring performance tuning and operational discipline
- Translate business requirements into data artifacts and serve as the primary technical interface for various consumer groups
Required qualifications
- Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Notebooks, and Event streams
- Proficiency in Power BI report development and DAX
- Strong skills in SQL Server, Azure SQL, or Postgres, particularly in query optimization and schema design
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD for data pipelines
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and improve AI-generated code in a production environment
