Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the technical direction for data architecture, the full-time Principal Data Engineer will design and implement robust data pipelines and ensure platform reliability while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Drive architectural decisions for critical platform components, focusing on scalability, cost, and reliability
• Build and maintain production-grade data pipelines using Snowflake and dbt, supporting real-time data needs
• Establish and enforce data governance standards, ensuring data quality and compliance across the organization

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering experience, with 3-5 years at a principal or staff level in a start-up environment
• Production-grade experience with Snowflake and dbt, including design and scaling in a real product environment
• Hands-on experience with real-time streaming technologies such as KSQL or Apache Flink
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, along with a strong background in data modeling and pipeline design
• Demonstrated usage of AI tools to enhance engineering processes and problem-solving capabilities
