Principal Data Engineer
Job Summary
To drive measurable improvements in data quality and platform scalability, the full-time Principal Data Engineer will set engineering standards, design scalable data processing frameworks, and integrate AI/ML techniques within production environments while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Define and maintain data engineering patterns and architectural guardrails for the organization's data platform
- Lead the design of scalable data processing frameworks ensuring platform reliability and data quality outcomes
- Implement and optimize high-performance cloud-based data pipelines using tools like Apache Kafka and Databricks
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive data engineering experience with demonstrated platform engineering at scale
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare or a Medicare Advantage environment
- Proven experience designing complex ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated working proficiency with cloud data platform tools such as Azure Databricks or equivalent
