Principal Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the data platform in a remote capacity, the full-time Principal Data Platform Engineer will design and implement end-to-end data architecture while ensuring data governance and quality across applications and warehouses.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end data architecture including application CDC, streaming, and warehouse modeling
• Build resilient multi-region database and replication topologies with automated failover and disaster recovery
• Mentor engineers and establish architectural standards across the data platform

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps at Staff or Principal IC level
• Proven experience building large-scale distributed data systems in production
• Deep hands-on cloud experience, preferably with Azure, and familiarity with IaC and CI/CD
• Strong SQL and data modeling fundamentals across streaming and relational/warehouse patterns
• Production depth in at least one orchestration tool and one streaming/ingestion stack
