Principal Data Scientist

Job Summary

Seeking a self-directed Principal Data Scientist to design, build, and deploy advanced analytics and machine learning solutions for TradeStation's trading platform and business operations in a full-time remote role, focusing on the complete data science lifecycle from exploratory analysis to production deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, including model training, validation, deployment, and performance monitoring
• Translate complex data into clear visualizations and narratives for technical and executive audiences, while building analytical tools for informed decision-making
• Stay updated on AI and ML research, adopting emerging techniques to enhance business value and contribute to AI governance standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• 7+ years of experience in data science or applied machine learning roles, with proven ownership of models in production
• Strong command of machine learning methods, including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning
• Proficiency in Python for production-quality code, along with experience in version control and MLOps best practices
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, or Snowflake, and ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries
