Principal Data Scientist

Job Summary

Leading AI/ML initiatives, the full-time Principal Data Scientist will drive technical outcomes and accountability for data engineering and predictive modeling, enhancing student engagement and retention in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set direction for and manage end-to-end AI/ML initiatives, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams
• Build and deploy predictive models to enhance proactive student outreach and engagement
• Architect and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support model development and production

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in applied machine learning or data science, preferably in education or consumer tech
• Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn and TensorFlow
• Proven experience in data engineering, including architecting production data pipelines and feature stores
• Hands-on experience with MLOps frameworks and production automation tools like Dagster and Terraform
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, statistics, or engineering
