Principal Data Scientist

Job Summary

Owning the end-to-end modeling process, the full-time Principal Data Scientist will manage data, features, training, evaluation, and deployment of a critical decision system remotely, while defining KPIs and leading a small team of practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Own the modeling process, including data management, feature engineering, training, evaluation, and deployment
• Define and set targets for key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the decision system
• Elevate the capabilities of a small team of data practitioners through leadership and mentorship

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in applied data science or machine learning with a focus on production ownership
• Strong background in applied statistics, including bias reasoning and calibration
• Experience owning a software system with complex analytical components
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
• Prior team leadership experience is a plus
