Principal Data Strategist

Job Summary

Leading the execution of data strategy for a large-scale federal data platform, the fully remote Principal Data Strategist will manage data governance, quality standards, and coordinate with upstream source-system teams to enhance metadata maturity and support self-service analytics.

Key responsibilities:

• Own the execution of the data strategy, aligning delivery with organizational goals
• Coordinate across multiple teams to manage data ingestion, readiness, and shared metadata standards
• Set and maintain data quality standards, ensuring compliance with SLAs and tracking defects

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, plus at least 12 years of experience
• Proven experience leading a data strategy for a multi-source enterprise data platform
• Experience with metadata governance programs and cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)
• Strong background in defining and enforcing data quality standards
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
