Principal Database Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Database Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of data platform architecture focusing on PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, and AWS-native database services
• Establish and enforce database administration best practices, including performance tuning and high availability configurations
• Design and enforce data security policies, access controls, and compliance frameworks

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 8+ years of relevant database and platform engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a lead or principal capacity
• Strong database platform engineering expertise in PostgreSQL, DocumentDB (or MongoDB), and AWS database services
• Expert-level knowledge of database administration, including performance tuning and disaster recovery
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform and/or Pulumi) and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
