Principal Database Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Database Engineer specializing in MySQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and architect the data estate for MySQL and PostgreSQL environments
• Automate database management processes using Infrastructure as Code tools
• Lead capacity planning and disaster recovery design for data systems

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Senior DBA, DBRE, or data-focused SRE roles
• Expert-level knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL, including HA environments
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting and IaC tools like Ansible and Terraform
• Experience with containerized environments and event-driven architectures
• Advanced skills in configuring and monitoring Linux systems
