Principal Database Engineer
Job Summary
To support the architecture and operational excellence of enterprise database platforms, the full-time Principal Database Engineer will manage cloud-first healthcare applications, focusing on automation, performance, and reliability in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Define and govern highly available and secure enterprise database platforms across cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
- Lead the lifecycle management and modernization of Microsoft SQL Server platforms while driving migrations to PostgreSQL and cloud-native services
- Design automated frameworks for database provisioning, maintenance, and performance analytics using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience managing enterprise relational database platforms in public cloud environments
- Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and database DevOps practices
- Microsoft SQL Server certification or equivalent experience
- AWS or Google Cloud Professional certification (preferred)
