Principal Databricks Architect

Job Summary

Leading the design and implementation of a Databricks-based data science and AI platform, the full-time remote Principal Databricks Architect will define platform architecture, ensure governance and compliance, and enable data science teams to independently develop and deploy models.

Key responsibilities

• Define and champion the end-to-end architecture for the Databricks data science and AI platform, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance
• Lead the design and adoption of Unity Catalog for data governance, partnering with security and compliance teams
• Architect robust integration between Databricks and the enterprise data platform (Snowflake) to enable seamless data access

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise-level IT functions
• 7+ years of experience managing large enterprise data initiatives and teams
• 5+ years of experience architecting and operating enterprise-grade data and AI/ML platforms, with hands-on Databricks and Apache Spark experience
• Deep knowledge of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and related technologies
