Principal Design Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Principal Design Engineer will bridge the gap between design intent and engineering implementation by translating design explorations into interactive prototypes and code-based artifacts across web and native platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Translate design explorations into clear hypotheses for testing and validation
• Build interactive, code-based prototypes that align design intent with engineering implementation
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure quality and fidelity of shipped experiences

Required qualifications

• Experienced product designer with strong front-end engineering or design-engineering skills
• Proficient in CSS and familiar with modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, Next.js, Tailwind)
• Deep understanding of design decisions and their translation into engineering across multiple platforms
• Proven ability to work on complex, multi-surface products spanning web and native apps
• Strong collaboration skills to align design and engineering around shared quality and intent
