Principal DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

As a fully remote opportunity, the Principal DevOps Engineer will architect and evolve a Kubernetes-native platform for NBC's broadcast production environments, focusing on automating cloud infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management while driving technical vision and mentoring team members.

Key responsibilities

• Architect a Kubernetes-native platform and lead technical strategy for automating provisioning across multi-account AWS environments
• Design, build, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes operators and internal platform APIs, integrating external enterprise platforms
• Drive GitOps-based continuous delivery and manage configuration-as-code for compute fleets, ensuring operational excellence and visibility

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing and operating production infrastructure and cloud-native platforms at enterprise scale
• Strong proficiency in Go and extensive experience building Kubernetes controllers/operators
• Expert-level knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem, including CRD/XRD generation and RBAC
• Deep production experience with Crossplane and custom Crossplane providers in Go
• Extensive experience with AWS multi-account architectures and networking patterns
