Principal Engineer

Job Summary

To support innovative product development, the full-time Principal Engineer will ship new products and systems rapidly while maintaining high quality, leveraging AI tools, and managing backend infrastructure, with a hybrid work arrangement involving remote work and periodic presence in the NYC office.

Key responsibilities

• Ship new product surface area quickly, taking ideas from concept to production while elevating team standards
• Establish AI-native workflows for the engineering team, ensuring effective use of AI tools and practices
• Maintain backend infrastructure and architecture to ensure system reliability and performance

Required qualifications

• Proven experience using AI to build products and systems efficiently without compromising quality
• Strong product judgment with the ability to prioritize features and make critical decisions
• High standards for code quality, design, and production processes
• Experience in small, high-trust teams, ideally with a founding-engineer background or CTO/VPE experience
• Solid backend experience in Go or Kotlin, along with familiarity in AWS or GCP and Kubernetes
