Principal Engineer

Job Summary

As a hands-on technical leader, the remote Principal Engineer will actively contribute to the codebase using Go, Python, and JavaScript while managing a small Agile team, setting technical standards, and delivering impactful features for national security applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead as a core individual contributor in software development and set technical standards through code reviews and architecture decisions
• Manage and mentor a small Agile team, facilitating sprint planning and process development
• Identify and communicate technical debt and risks, ensuring a strong collaboration within a remote team environment

Required qualifications

• Professional proficiency in Go, Python, and JavaScript, with experience in a Linux-based cloud environment
• Experience in building and operating software products in fast-paced, resource-constrained settings
• Fluency with modern DevOps, CI/CD, and agile tooling, particularly with AWS and Kubernetes
• Demonstrated track record of technical leadership and direct line management experience
• Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance preferred, but not required
