Principal Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance a Medical Practice Software Platform, the full-time remote Principal Engineer will design and develop system architecture, oversee REST API definitions, and collaborate with offshore teams to ensure high-quality releases.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a performance dashboard, stateless authentication systems, and database tables for partner credentials
• Supervise backend and UI developers in the implementation of user interfaces, APIs, and database changes
• Enhance backend and infrastructure engineering processes to support scalability and reliability across the platform

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Five years of experience as a Software Development Tech Lead or Software Engineer
• Proficiency in PHP and Laravel for legacy systems
• Experience with Kafka, PubSub, Kubernetes, or Terraform for scalable system design
• Familiarity with healthcare data exchange standards including FHIR and HL7
