Principal Engineer, AI Development

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Principal Engineer, AI Development to architect and build foundational AI tooling and platforms that enable teams across the organization to create, deploy, and manage AI agents, workflows, and applications in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and workflows that democratize AI capabilities for users of varying technical backgrounds
• Establish production-grade standards for reliability, security, and operational excellence across AI implementations
• Coach and lead cross-functional teams in implementing AI-augmented processes and workflows in their daily operations

Required qualifications

• 10-12 years of strong engineering experience with a proven ability to architect scalable platforms, CLIs, SDKs, and APIs
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building generative AI tooling, including LLM APIs and AI orchestration platforms
• Deep knowledge of data engineering and architecture, including RDBMS, Spark/Flink, and Data Mesh implementation
• Experience with Databricks, focusing on observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering practices
• Technical coaching and enablement skills, with the ability to guide teams through complex technology adoption
