Principal Engineer, AI Development
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Principal Engineer, AI Development to architect and build foundational AI tooling and platforms that enable teams to create, deploy, and manage AI agents and workflows, working remotely across various states.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and workflows to democratize AI capabilities for both technical and non-technical users
- Establish production-grade standards for reliability, observability, and security across all AI implementations
- Coach and lead cross-functional teams in implementing AI-augmented processes and workflows
Required qualifications
- 10-12 years of engineering experience with a proven ability to architect scalable platforms and developer tools
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in building generative AI tooling, including LLM APIs and AI orchestration platforms
- Strong knowledge of data engineering and architecture, including RDBMS, Spark/Flink, and Data Mesh implementation
- Experience with Databricks, focusing on observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering practices
- Technical coaching skills with the ability to guide teams through complex technology adoption
