Principal Engineer, AI Platform

Job Summary

As a Principal Engineer on the AI Platform team, the full-time position will architect infrastructure for Generative AI and Recommender Systems, driving strategic initiatives and fostering a collaborative culture, with a requirement for in-office collaboration 1-2 times per quarter in San Francisco or Palo Alto.

Key responsibilities

• Set the technical vision and roadmap for the Pinterest AI Platform, aligning with business priorities
• Drive initiatives for multimodal data management, training infrastructure, and AI-powered tools to enhance productivity
• Cultivate an inclusive culture and provide constructive feedback to promote team growth

Required qualifications

• Deep expertise in AI/ML infrastructure and distributed systems with hands-on experience in large-scale production systems
• Proven track record of leading cross-organizational initiatives and influencing technical strategy
• Strong ownership with high standards for engineering quality and accountability
