Principal Engineer, AI Systems
Job Summary
Leading the design and development of AI-native workflows, the full-time remote Principal Engineer, AI Systems will enhance engineering productivity and operational excellence by architecting intelligent agents and integrating automation across Teradata's AI Platform.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-driven agentic workflows for observability and operational optimization
- Architect AI agents that automate complex debugging and system diagnostics
- Collaborate with engineering teams to embed intelligent automation into CI/CD and DevOps workflows
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on AI/ML systems
- Proven experience building AI agents and autonomous workflows
- Strong programming expertise in Python and at least one of Java or Go
- Experience with distributed systems and observability architectures
- Foundational AI skills, including prompt engineering and model evaluation
