Principal Engineer, Core Services

Job Summary

Driving the technical direction for Engineering Core Services, the full-time Principal Engineer will own the architecture and roadmap for shared platform capabilities, including customer identity and commerce, while working remotely or in a hybrid capacity from Austin, Houston, or Denver.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own architecture and decision authority across the Engineering Core Services portfolio, including CIAM and billing platforms
• Lead the consolidation of legacy capabilities onto modern shared platforms and define integration patterns for product engineering teams
• Mentor senior engineers and engage with stakeholders on cross-product architecture questions, influencing broader engineering practices

Required Qualifications:

• 12+ years of engineering experience, with at least 7 years as the primary architect for shared services across multiple product organizations
• Deep production experience architecting and operating a CIAM platform at scale, with expertise in OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML 2.0
• Strong systems-integration judgment across diverse environments, including APIs and data modeling for various licensing models
• Experience with cloud-native architecture (AWS, Kubernetes) and legacy enterprise environments
• Cross-functional leadership experience, comfortable engaging with senior leaders in product, finance, and security
