Leading the architecture and development of AI-powered data intelligence platforms, the full-time Principal Engineer Data Intelligence will define technical vision, build large-scale distributed systems, and establish frameworks for AI validation while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a flexible hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Define technical vision and architecture for Yahoo's AI-powered data intelligence platform
- Architect petabyte-scale batch and streaming systems using technologies like Beam, Dataflow, Spark, and Kafka
- Establish evaluation frameworks for AI systems to ensure operational safety and accuracy
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in building distributed systems and large-scale data platforms
- Degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, Math, or a related field
- Deep expertise in Python and strong software engineering skills
- Production experience with batch and streaming processing technologies such as Kafka
- Track record of shipping and operating RAG applications in production
