Principal Engineer (Scala)

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Principal Engineer (Scala).

Key Responsibilities

• Own technical strategy and architecture for core domain services
• Drive cross-team delivery of high-impact initiatives and unblock teams
• Raise reliability, resiliency, and performance at scale through systemic improvements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Ten or more years of software engineering experience with backend/distributed systems
• Deep expertise in building large-scale backend systems using Scala, Java, or similar languages
• Experience leading design and scaling of AI-enabled systems across teams
• Strong operational ownership for critical systems, including incident management and reliability improvements
