Principal Engineer, Software Engineering
Job Summary
Driving the design and development of enterprise eCommerce and portal platforms, the full-time salaried Principal Engineer, Software Engineering will provide technical leadership, oversee application modernization, and establish engineering standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical leader for eCommerce and portal application engineering initiatives
- Lead the design and development of modern eCommerce applications and support the modernization of legacy systems
- Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, including code reviews and automated testing
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Typically 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience in enterprise application development
- 3+ years in a senior technical role such as staff, principal, or lead engineer
- Strong hands-on experience building large-scale eCommerce or customer-facing web applications
- Deep knowledge of modern software engineering practices including microservices and RESTful APIs
