Principal Engineer, Tooling

Job Summary

Leading tooling and molding projects, the full-time remote Principal Engineer, Tooling will manage new product tooling development, support product improvements, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring adherence to engineering practices and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project direction with management and lead tooling design reviews while ensuring compliance with timelines and budgets
• Analyze and plan solutions for complex engineering problems, collaborating with product development and manufacturing teams
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing training and performance evaluations to enhance team capabilities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related STEM field, or 10+ years of experience in Medical Device and Molding Tools
• Knowledge of scientific molding/RJG molding and mold simulation; experience with silicone molding is a plus
• Strong understanding of plastic part design for manufacturability and mold manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar design software
• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to lead complex engineering projects
