Job Summary

Experienced public policy professionals will find a full-time salaried Principal, External Engagement opportunity focused on defining and leading the external engagement strategy for assigned regions while building relationships with civic leaders and local government officials.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the external engagement strategy for assigned regions, setting priorities and owning outcomes that advance community partnership goals
• Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, civic leaders, and local opinion leaders, acting as a trusted advocate for Amazon
• Collaborate across teams to align engagement efforts with organizational strategies and influence business decisions through stakeholder insights

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant discipline (e.g., Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development)
• 10+ years of relevant experience in public relations, public policy, economic development, or external engagement
• Experience creating and owning external affairs or community engagement strategies with measurable business impact
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-profile relationships with community partners and civic leaders
• Proven track record of working across multiple organizations and influencing business decisions
