Job Summary
Owning the real-time control firmware for bidirectional DC/DC power conversion stages, the full-time Principal Firmware Engineer will implement control loops, manage a portable DC/DC control library, and ensure converter protection firmware while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Implement real-time control loops for power conversion stages, ensuring phase current balancing and mode arbitration
- Architect and maintain the control ISR and scheduler for deterministic timing and performance
- Derive small-signal plant models and design discrete-time compensators to meet performance targets
Required qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated capability
- Six or more years of experience developing production embedded firmware in C for real-time systems
- Hands-on experience closing control loops in firmware on switched-mode power converters
- Strong understanding of discrete-time control and its implications on system performance
- Competence in fixed-point arithmetic and deterministic ISR design under hard timing constraints
