Principal Grid Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading the technical execution of generation interconnection processes, the remote Sr Manager or Principal, Generation Interconnection & Grid Engineering will manage interconnection applications and studies for thermal energy storage projects across multiple RTOs/ISOs, ensuring compliance and efficiency while collaborating with various internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end interconnection process, including application preparation and milestone tracking
• Develop and maintain single-line diagrams and conduct stability, dynamic, load flow, and short-circuit studies
• Direct and manage external engineering consultants to ensure technical rigor and adherence to project timelines

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in power systems engineering or transmission planning with direct experience in RTO/ISO interconnection applications
• Demonstrated experience developing single-line diagrams and conducting technical studies
• Strong understanding of FERC, NERC, and RTO/ISO interconnection processes
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus) or related field
• Proven ability to evaluate interconnection configurations and make technical recommendations
