Principal HVDC Transformer Design Engineer

Job Summary

Bringing extensive experience in transformer electrical and mechanical design, the full-time Principal HVDC Transmission Transformer Design Engineer will ensure the development of high-quality transformer products while working remotely and focusing on risk identification and mitigation for HVDC applications.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead design reviews to ensure compliance with design, quality, and manufacturing best practices
• Provide technical support for factory and site issues, including customer and supplier communications
• Analyze quality data and implement corrective actions to continuously improve design processes

Required qualifications:

• Deep technical knowledge in transformer electrical and mechanical design
• Extensive experience in Transmission Transformer Manufacturing and HVDC projects, typically 10-15 years
• Demonstrated expertise in FEA Analysis and quality process improvement
• Solid understanding of site and factory acceptance testing issues, RCA, and DFMEA
• Exceptional communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
