Principal Interoperability Standards Specialist
Job Summary
Serving as the technical and standards authority, the full-time Principal Interoperability Standards Specialist will manage external industry representation, lead FHIR implementation efforts, and ensure product alignment with evolving healthcare interoperability standards in a remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Represent the organization in external industry groups and initiatives related to interoperability standards
- Act as the internal subject matter expert on FHIR and translate evolving standards into actionable product requirements
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise leadership on their implications for product and network strategy
Required qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in healthcare interoperability, FHIR-based product development, or health IT standards
- Deep expertise with FHIR APIs, SMART on FHIR, and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Experience contributing to HL7/FHIR implementation guide development or industry standards working groups
- Proven ability to translate complex technical standards into product strategy and stakeholder communications
- Active presence in the healthcare interoperability community with established relationships
