Job Summary

Seeking a Principal Java Engineer to join the Distributed Systems team in a full-time remote capacity, focusing on designing and operating core components of the next-generation Serverless Elasticsearch offering while addressing distributed systems challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build core components for the Serverless Elasticsearch offering, impacting customer experience globally
• Enhance Elasticsearch components for concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines
• Maintain the cluster coordination system to ensure high performance and stability as nodes and data fluctuate

Required qualifications

• Extensive experience with distributed systems and consensus algorithms
• Strong proficiency in core Java and familiarity with data structures and concurrency constructs
• Demonstrated ability to build large-scale distributed systems from the ground up
• Experience managing projects involving multiple engineers and complex features
• Proven track record of utilizing AI to enhance development and optimize systems
