Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer focusing on LLM fine-tuning and optimization, this full-time remote position will manage the development and enhancement of AI models and services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create impactful AI products for the travel industry.

Key responsibilities:

• Work with large-scale structured and unstructured data to improve foundation models for various Airbnb use cases
• Create a multi-year tech roadmap to leverage cutting-edge AI technologies for customer benefits
• Prototype, develop, and productionize LLM models and pipelines at scale for both batch and real-time applications

Required qualifications:

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in developing machine learning models and products at scale
• Programming experience in Python and hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch
• Proven record in training, fine-tuning, and optimizing models
• Post-training experience in areas such as data processing for fine-tuning and model evaluation
