Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, the full-time remote position will design and build core ML systems for AI agents, overseeing the entire lifecycle from problem framing to deployment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement machine learning models and orchestration layers for AI agents
• Lead the development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are scalable, observable, and enterprise-ready
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to integrate ML systems into the Workday platform

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data science or machine learning engineering, with a focus on applied machine learning products
• 4+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks such as Pytorch or TensorFlow
• 6+ years of experience in deploying machine learning models in production environments
• 3+ years of experience working with large language models or related technologies
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physics, math, or a related field (Master's or PhD preferred)
