Principal Medical Writer

Job Summary

Leading the development of high-quality scientific content, the full-time Principal Medical Writer will create deliverables for healthcare professionals while managing writers and freelancers, conducting literature reviews, and ensuring compliance with editorial standards in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high-quality scientific content for print and event deliverables aligned with educational objectives
• Manage workflow by assigning tasks to internal writers and freelancers, ensuring timely project completion
• Conduct extensive literature reviews and prepare materials for pharmaceutical promotional review processes

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical communications agency or company with a strong portfolio
• Advanced degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or MS) in a healthcare-related field preferred
• Experience preparing content for MLR review processes and understanding pharmaceutical compliance requirements
• Proficiency in AMA style and in-house editorial standards
• Ability to travel for events and meetings approximately one to three days per quarter
