Principal Network Engineer

Job Summary

To lead the design and implementation of network modernization, the contract Principal Network Engineer will work remotely, focusing on network architecture, security protocols, and performance tuning over a six-month engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-availability network solutions
• Enhance network security protocols in collaboration with security teams, including ZTNA and firewalls
• Monitor network performance and apply tuning to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 4 years in a principal or senior engineer role
• Profound understanding of IP protocols (IPv4/IPv6), BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPNs
• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN, ZTNA, and SASE technologies
• In-depth knowledge of network security best practices, including firewalls and encryption
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers
