Principal Network Engineer

Job Summary

To lead the design, implementation, and operations of network modernization, the contract-based Principal Network Engineer will collaborate on complex network solutions, enhance security protocols, and monitor network performance while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-availability network solutions
• Work with security teams to enforce and enhance network security protocols, including ZTNA and firewalls
• Create and maintain thorough documentation for network architecture and design builds

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 4 years in a principal or senior engineer role
• Profound understanding of IP protocols (IPv4/IPv6), BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VPNs
• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN, ZTNA, and SASE
• In-depth knowledge of network security best practices, including firewalls and encryption
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers while fostering collaboration
