Job Summary
Leading interconnection planning analysis and economic studies for utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects, the remote Principal Planning Engineer will supervise electrical analysis on high voltage transmission systems, manage interconnection processes, and mentor junior engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead powerflow and economic studies to assess electric interconnection viability and support due diligence efforts for renewable projects
- Perform technical reviews of interconnection study reports and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize project outcomes
- Negotiate interconnection agreements and ensure compliance with milestones throughout the project lifecycle
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree or MBA preferred
- Ten years of experience in transmission and interconnection planning for renewable projects, including solar and energy storage
- Proficient in GE PSLF, Siemens PSS/E, PROMOD, and AutoCAD software
- Experience working with utilities, consulting firms, and ISO/RTOs
- Demonstrated ability to execute projects from inception through development and engineering phases
