Job Summary
Owning the architectural design of a commercial AWS platform, the full-time remote Principal Platform Engineer will manage security compliance, deployment portability, and internal developer experience while translating regulatory requirements into infrastructure decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Own the architectural shape of the platform including VPC, managed PostgreSQL, serverless compute, and observability
- Ensure security and compliance with federal identity standards and manage encryption, audit logging, and tenant isolation
- Translate regulatory pressures into concrete infrastructure decisions and partner with deployment teams for restricted environments
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of professional infrastructure or platform engineering experience
- Experience managing production systems, including being on call and handling outages and audits
- Deep knowledge of AWS and strong infrastructure-as-code experience (CDK or Terraform)
- Familiarity with identity and access design, including SAML/OIDC and federated identity
- Experience working under regulatory pressures such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, or SOC 2
