Principal Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To accelerate platform delivery, the full-time remote Principal Platform Engineer will combine software engineering and operations expertise, leading high-priority initiatives, establishing engineering best practices, and creating reusable platform capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high-priority initiatives to clarify approaches and deliver quality results while reducing cross-team friction
• Establish engineering best practices, including design documentation, architecture reviews, and automated testing
• Create reusable platform capabilities and implement automation to enhance operational efficiency and delivery speed

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 12+ years of experience building and operating cloud-native platforms and software delivery systems at scale
• 8+ years of experience designing and operating microservices-based systems, including API design and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional technical initiatives with measurable business outcomes
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes, public cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and production operations
