Principal Product Designer

Job Summary

Leading design strategy and execution for Toast's newest AI assistant product, the full-time remote Principal Product Designer will evolve the user experience across web, mobile, and hardware platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design process for core UX/UI features within Toast's AI ecosystem, focusing on prototyping and experimentation
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to define design requirements and align on goals
• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and enhance user-centered design principles

Required qualifications

• Proven ability to lead high-impact design initiatives at a principal level
• Deep understanding of emerging AI use cases and user-centered design principles
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Miro, as well as emerging AI tools
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration in cross-functional teams
• Experience mentoring junior designers and promoting best practices in design
