Principal Product Designer

Job Summary

As a full-time Principal Product Designer, the candidate will set the visual and interaction language for Yahoo Home, collaborating with product, engineering, and community teams to enhance user engagement across platforms while managing design quality and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design of the Yahoo Home experience, defining cross-platform design language and interaction patterns
• Collaborate with the Community team to integrate user participation features into the reading experience
• Prototype and iterate quickly using AI tools, ensuring designs are both functional and engaging

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in product design, particularly with consumer products at scale
• Proven experience in building functional prototypes using AI tools
• Strong understanding of cross-platform design principles for mobile and desktop
• Experience in developing or extending design systems
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and navigate complex design challenges
