Principal Product Designer

Job Summary

Leading a small team of senior individual-contributor designers, the full-time Principal Product Designer will manage, coach, and develop design talent while personally tackling complex design challenges and setting the vision for high-quality, impactful design work in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a small team of senior designers, fostering a culture of craft and high performance
• Own and deliver design work on high-leverage or ambiguous problems while maintaining quality and consistency
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing leaders to align design efforts with business priorities

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of design experience, with a background in managing and developing individual contributors
• Proven track record of shipping high-quality design within consumer products or marketplace platforms
• Demonstrable experience in using AI for design exploration and prototyping
• Strong ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear design directions
• Experience in hiring, coaching, and retaining senior-level designers
